Well done to our brand new players Angie, Charlotte, Monica and Peary for doing so well carrying, catching and passing the ball.
Throughout the match we had a strong in defence, although it took the first 10 minutes to get fully into it. The opposition comprised of strong runners, making two quick tries at the very start, with more to come. But, no matter what they threw at us, we had grit, determination, and we soldiered on!
We made some awesome jackles, huge thank you to Constance’s quick feet, but we need to work on supporting more to grab the ball, especially when illiana cleared rucks.
Special shout out to Yo who played exceptionally well and two games with lots of running back to back! ??♀️
What we did much better than last time was we got back 10m much faster, we remembered to stay behind the back of the opposition in a ruck and not try to get the ball out from the side.
A few things to work on and improve: we could have pushed forward more and been more aggressive; we need to get LOWER in tackles and despite us improving and doing this less, we still gave away a penalty after a high tackle. One last thing to work on is our ruck engagement, we need to guard faster and our ball presentation could also be a bit smoother.
These are small things, but by coming down to training we can improve these immensely, so hope to see you all this week ❤️

STORM MATCH REPORT
Valiant effort from SBT Storm against Valley
0-12
Overall we had a strong performance with excellent work from the pick who dominated many of the set pieces. Our pods were always available, but struggled to break through the strong defensive line of Valley.
Our defence was strong, but it took 20 minutes to get into the game. There were some excellent last ditch tackles from Angie who is always outstanding for the Storm.
It was really great to see so many on the sidelines, desperate to get on the pitch to play.
Everybody is playing above themselves and as a team we have become better than 15 individuals. This has been a noticeable improvement from two weeks ago and we will only get better.
We aren’t there yet, but we are on the journey.
The player of the match was Myi who drove forward, ran with heart and cleared with anger…and well supported by the forwards especially by the Karen, Keri and Kayla. With a special shout out and thanks to Flo for playing at no.8! ?
Angie and Mandy were outstanding in the backs with 17 year old Annabel being the back of the game. Special mention to Winnie, who tackled furiously.
We’ve step up from two weeks ago. Now we need to step up again for Tigers this Saturday.
See you training this week.
